The accident occurred on Jl. Tutut-Geumpang in Tungkop village, Sungai Mas subdistrict, West Aceh, Nangroe Aceh Darussalam.
Head of the West Aceh Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) T. Ahmad Dadek said on Friday that all victims of the L-300 minibus accident were taken to Cut Nyak Dhien Hospital in Meulaboh.
All 16 passengers were family members from Kualabhee village in Woyla, West Aceh, who were on their way home after taking one of their family members to Samalangga Islamic Boarding school in Pidie Jaya.
The police alleged that the vehicle’s brakes were not functioning as normal when the accident took place.
